McConnell Chartered Surveyors has supported its chosen charity, the Cancer Fund for children, for the past two years, raising a total of £5,000

A great effort by all our staff who have, amongst other things, run marathons, climbed mountains, drunk coffee, eaten cake, dressed down, worn silly jumpers and generally enjoyed themselves supporting such a good cause...!

The property has been sold to a private buyer well in excess of the £450,000 guide price.

Rebecca Scott Promoted Associate Director

McConnell Chartered Surveyors is delighted to announce the promotion of Rebecca Scott to Associate Director.

Rebecca joined McConnells in 2012 and qualified MRICS in 2014.

She is responsible for the management of a range of commercial properties throughout Northern Ireland, and some of our major Belfast city centre instructions including the newly completed Grade A office buildings at River House and Artola House.

Best Kept Large Housing Area - Managed by McConnells

Merville Garden Village, Managed by McConnells, has won the Northern Ireland Amenity Council's Best Kept large Housing Award again this year.

The judges praised the well maintained open spaces, highlighting the centrally located tree lined walkway where young trees have recently been planted to replace old ones - "...it was evident that the residents have a pride in where they live, as there was an absence of litter and graffiti, and many had shown initiative with attractive planting and floral enhancements at the front of their properties..."

McConnells Night Out on the Water

This motley crew of McConnell sailors took time out from doing deals to set sail round Belfast Harbour on the World Famous Titanic Boat Tour ("She was alright when she left here...") following a Charity Dress Down Day in aid of our nominated Chartiy, the Cancer Fund for Children.

 

Thankfully in spite of a stiff wind and frequent rain squalls, no icebergs were spotted, and everyone returned safely to dry land where the party continued well into the night...

Acting on behalf of a Charity Client, McConnells has completed the sale of this well known landmark building on Belfast's High Street.

The property was brought to the market at the end of 2018 and has sold to a private buyer close to the £1.5m asking price.

The purchaser has retained McConnells to manage the property pending a future refurbishment or redevelopment.

McConnells have completed two more new lettings at River House Belfast on behalf of Landlords, Castleforge.

US Tech firm SmashFly Technologies, which builds marketing automation software for recruiting, has taken the 5,815 sq ft 11th floor in this recently completed Grade A office development which is attracting strong interest from corporate and tech occupiers alike.LSH advised SmashFly.

Musgrave Retail Partners NI has signed up for the largest of the ground floor retail units at River, comprising 2,347 sq ft, for an exciting new Centra convenience store. Lisney acted for Musgrave.

We're Celebrating Our 165th Anniversary in 2019

At McConnell Chartered Surveyors we're celebrating our 165th Anniversary this year - the firm traces its origins back to 1854 when Ephraim Brown opened on Belfast's Donegall Street.

RJ McConnell started his business on Royal Avenue in 1872 and the two firms later merged to become Brown McConnell.

Over the years McConnells has grown through further mergers and acquisitions, most recently bringing together Brown McConnnell Clark McKee and McConnell Martin in 2010 and acquiring Knight & Co in 2011.

Now we're not only the oldest, but amongst the largest and most respected Chartered Surveying practices in Northern Ireland.

McConnells Handles Most Belfast Office Deals

McConnells has transacted more Belfast City Centre Office Deals than Any Other Agent

In the latest Radius DX Office Agents League Table, published by EGi and Estates Gazette, McConnells has emerged as the agent having transacted the most number of office deals in Belfast during the past 12 months.

McConnells was ranked 4th overall in terms of the number of square feet leased or sold, but were well ahead of the competition on the total number of deals completed, with over 21% of all Belfast lettings being handled by the firm.

The Belfast office market has seen strong growth over the last few years, with headline Grade A rentals now well above £20 per sq ft, and strong demand from both FDIs and indigenous companies either expanding or upgrading.

Commenting on the League Table, Rory McConnell said: "This result is a testament to the hard work, commitment and tenacity of our Agency Team, and it is great to see the firm continuing to punch above its weight in the local market."
